Hi Jamie!

I hope this note finds you doing well and feeling good. I am sure you are enjoying your little pup!! Hopefully he’s behaving for you and your mom! Please tell her hello for me. We miss her!

I am writing to you to let you know that my daughters (Caroline & Kelsey) are jump roping tomorrow for the American Heart Association. They jump in honor of someone and they have chosen you from hearing your story. This was completely their idea. I was touched by this and I thought you should know that you are thought about a lot even by those who don’t know you personally, like my girls!

 Take care & be well,

Hello Jamie!

Coach Meredith here from Providence College.  It has been a while since we have been in touch.  Our season has been one of challenge and highs and some tough learning moments but we are in the spot we want to be…THE PLAYOFFS.  We square off this Saturday against UCONN at home at 1pm.  I’ve been thinking about you and your family and how much hard work, adversity and victories you have experienced over the months.  Keep up the good work Jamie!  Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family!  We will try to come even a quarter close to matching your will and determination to beat the odds this weekend.

 Sincerely,
Meredith and the PC Women’s Ice Hockey Team

Hey Jamie!

I spoke to your mom and dad tonight for the first time in a long time and they told me the whole story. I am sorry I have been out of touch for so long. I am happy to hear that you are felling better. I don't know if you remember me but I am your fathers friend from work . I came over with my corvette one time. You are a very special girl and I know how proud everyone is of you. Keep up the good work and I am certain that in time everything you want will come your way. I hope to see you and your parents very soon! I looked at all the pictures on the website too and you look marvelous darling!

heeey jamie .
i met you at the bruins alumni game at NESC. i was with a group of girls my team, the Lady Flames U13. my team has problems with teamwork because we are such a different group of girls. we are all different kinds of people and some of us dont mix. every time in the locker room when some one starts yelling at some one else, i'm always the one to break it up. most of them call me a peacemaker and ask me why i have to separate fights and i tell them because we have to be a team. they never seem to think that something as bad as what happen to you can happen. i think they dont think its realistic. i didnt think it was realstic either until i heard your story. so i wanted to say thanks for inspiring me to help my team really become a team! youre amazing and really good at hockey too. i played you last year in U12 when i played for the spitfires and we played you at brown university. anyways, thanks so much and youre a fighter!!!

love,
emily munger (:
Hi, Jamie:

You don't know me - I'm the Zamboni driver from Rink 2 at the NESC (you scared the pants off of me).  I hope that I'm in the building when you play hockey, again, so that I can point you out to sore losers and tell them, "Let me tell you about a REAL fighter .... "

take care,
Keith Tynan

Jamie and Family,
You guys don't know me, but I had to drop you a quick note.
My daughter recently joined the U12 girls hockey and I came across your story on the riaha girls website.
Now I check the Fightfor7 site daily to read the messages and look for your updates.

It was great to see how well you were doing at the Brown Women's opening night game.
The smiles on your teammate's faces as you made your way to your seat was really something to see!

As your message center shows, your story has spread across the country and most likely the world.
The hockey community is an amazing thing. It doesn't matter if you're a pro, playing pick-up or just skating on the pond, if you're a hockey player you're part of something really special (I'm glad I've been part of it my whole life!).

I've always believed in "things that are meant to be" and for whatever reason you're in the position you're in now, please know that you've become an inspiration to many worldwide. And that, your story has touched many many people that you don't even know, like old hack hockey players like me.

Keep fighting kid - you are a hockey player!

See ya on the ice soon,
A fan - Scott Mclean

Hey Jamie!

My name is Kaleigh Costello, I go to New England College and I play ice hockey. I'm sorry to hear about what your going through. I also had a heart problem, but now am completely cured.
My mother wrote to you a month ago telling you about what happened to me. When I was 14 I was diagnosed with Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome. My heart used to race when I played hockey.
I didn't think anything about it, until one day I nearly had a heart attack. Luckily, I didn't. It was really hard, especially when they told me that I may never play hockey again, but I was determined.
I wanted to do whatever it took to get me there and I never once gave up. I never lost hope, I always believed and always thought positive - looking at the good and bad situations.
At the time, having a heart problem seemed like the end of the world, but looking back I wouldn't have changed anything. Everything happens for a reason and I strongly believe that.
I just kept my thoughts focused on playing and after a few years and a couple of procedures, they fixed it and now I am considered cured. I know it must be hard,
but keep your focus on your dreams and they will come true. They did for me, and I hope they do for you. I'll check back on your blog to read about your amazing story of recovery. I know you will do it.

Take care,
Kaleigh Costello

Hi Jamie!

My name's Tommy. I'm a friend of your Dad's. I sure have heard a  lot about you. Things like "dominate", "amazing", "She plays like she
owns the ice", "incredible" ... well, you get tlhe idea.       Me and my gf Marilu been following your progress ever since your
Dad told us about your websites.  I can't believe how much (and how   fast) you've improved since the day it happened.  You rock!

Be tough, work hard and you'll "own the ice" again!  It's where you belong.

Godspeed,
--
Thom

hey Jamie,

Its me Kyle McLaughlin from the clipper family.  I'm sorry that i haven't talked to you sooner, I have been extremely busy with hockey, school and work but i have
been thinking about you and trying to keep up to date on your progress. I really hope that everything is going well for you! when I heard of your accident my heart sank
and i was in extreme disbelief. I know that your tough and i have no doubt that u will be back on the ice as soon as you can!  One thing I was told by one of my new
coaches has inspired me and i think it fits perfectly to your dreams as well. He said, "Listen Kyle, you want to go as far as possible in hockey and I can see the drive
and energy you have to do so. When some one tells you that playing in college or the AHL or even the NHL is a pipe dream, a long shot, or impossible...do not listen to them.
They are jealous of what you have in store for your future. No one can tell you what you can or cannot do. Only you can decide what your future holds for you! I believe that
if you want something bad enough then you will put forth the effort time to get it! And no matter whats happens, you will have experienced more then many can even dream
of and those memories will last with you for a lifetime!" If you really want to play hockey again and if you really want to play on the Olympic team, I know u can and will
because you have what few people have for a sport. You have the love, desire and passion for the sport of hockey and its all you want to do...being on the ice makes u feel
so happy and that's the best feeling ever. So keep that head high and keep fighting for your goals! If you need anything at all I'm always here!

Love always,
Kyle McLaughlin

Hi Jamie, Sharon and Jim,

Glad to read the reports of your improvement.  The web site is awesome.  The pirates have started the bantam / midget games.  VERY rough!
The boys on Joey’s team are getting bounced around and getting more than they are giving at this point.  Drew’s team had a fight with Providence,
Chris D went nuts and got a game suspension.  A, physical game with Hetland, yesterday,.  Myles B was playing his first game after returning from
a broken collar bone and snapped it again half way through the game.  It is safer where you are!

Hope you have a nice day!

Hi Jamie,

I recently read about the stroke that you had while playing on August 9 and, to be perfectly honest, it blindsided me. The idea of anyone of perfect health suffering a sudden disease,
illness or something like this always makes me stop and think a bit because you always wonder if it could happen to you. A 12-year-old girl suffering from a stroke is not something
a person ever thinks of – it would never occur to me that it would be possible. I’m so sorry and wish you the very best in your recovery! I see on your website that you have moved
to a rehab center and have already begun therapy. I could not be happier! I’m glad things are starting to move along for you and truly believe the best is yet to come. In my heart
I know that you will be skating again in no time and I hope to see you lace up the skates down here in Providence at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center. Maybe we could shoot around
together and I’ll teach you some tricks when you’re ready?

On behalf of the entire Providence Bruins organization, coaches, players and staff alike, you are in our prayers as we wish you a quick and blissful recovery.
Seeing you take the ice again will be an inspiration for us all!

 Best,
Matt Lashoff
Providence Bruins

back on the ice soon!

Hi Jamie,
I play for the University of Maine women's ice hockey team, and although I don't personally know you, reading the incredible things people have posted on this web site show
what kind of an amazing person you must be.  It seems as if you are already making tremendous strides in your recovery and I have no doubt you will continue on that path.
Remember to stay positive and keep working hard! Best of luck in your speedy recovery.

-Lexie Hoffmeyer
Dear Jamie,

We recently read about the stroke you had while playing hockey and our hearts go out to you, your family, friends, coaches and teammates. For a hockey player, forced bed rest can be torture.
Been there, done that but nothing as serious as your situation. Just rickety knees. If you're tough enough to play hockey, you're tough enough for this challenge.
Travis Roy gave you great encouragement and I'm glad to see Katie King visited you. Isn't she wonderful? Plus, it looks like you've got a million friends, and good ones.

If you're still going to Spaulding, they do a great job, saved my mom's life. Jamie, may God bless you and help you find the strength to win this battle. You will be in my prayers.
